I grew up in southern Ohio along the foothills of Appalachia and had successful careers in both restaurant and retail management.  Always remembering the principles I was raised on: working hard, helping others, and having an honest disposition has affected my life in every way, both professionally and personally.

After transferring to the Chicago area as an area manager for a retail company, I decided in 1999 to pursue my passion of interior design and enrolled at Harrington College of Design.  While a student I was very active, eventually becoming the Harrington chapter president of ASID, before receiving my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design in 2004.

Throughout my education and after graduation I held internships and design positions with some of Chicago's best known high-end residential, commercial interior design and architect firms:  Kathryn Quinn Architects, Anna Meyers Interiors, Suzanne Lovell Inc. and Jeanne Hartnett and Associates.  These firms helped shape my design skills and instincts along with allowing me to gain vast knowledge of materials, vendors, writing specifications, project management and interacting with a wide variety of clients.
 
The summer of 2009 I returned home to southern Ohio and formed Brent Huffman Design Studio, a freelance interior design studio serving Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus.
